Three people were killed and more than 30 passengers injured after a bus collided with a truck on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Alwar district on Tuesday morning, as per reports. The accident occurred around 6 am near Pinan under the Rajgarh police station area, triggering a large-scale rescue and relief operation.
The bus, which was travelling from Ujjain to Delhi, allegedly crashed into a truck carrying chemical material parked along the expressway. As per reports, initial police inputs suggest that the impact was severe, leading to multiple fatalities on the spot, including the bus driver, a woman passenger identified as Reena Yadav, and a child.
Eyewitness passengers alleged that the bus was being driven at high speed and that the driver appeared to be dozing off before the collision. Several passengers claimed they repeatedly asked the driver to stop the vehicle due to unsafe driving, but their warnings were ignored, as per reports.
Police officials stated that the exact circumstances are still under investigation, including whether the truck was stationary on the expressway at the time of the crash. Authorities have also begun searching for the truck driver, while injured passengers have been shifted to hospitals in Alwar, Jaipur, Rajgarh, and nearby areas for treatment.
Allegations have also emerged from survivors claiming delayed police response at the accident site, with some stating that help arrived nearly two hours after the crash. Local authorities have begun gathering details of the injured, while further investigation is underway to determine responsibility and sequence of events.
